It would be a really fun game if not for the glitchy and broken controls. The radial weapon menu keeps popping up and switching to other weapons which makes the game pretty unplayable.

Can it be played without VR?

Supports VR play only. Does not support standard play.

Don't have a VR headset? You can try to play this VR game with a Google Cardboard (Or a copy-cat clone) viewer, an Android phone and VRidge (freeware)! For more details, see my post.

Not sure which "cardboard" headset to buy? Check out the following buying guide:

Hesitant about playing VR games due to the current fact that not all games support all VR headsets? Then see the post concerning an effort to standardize support for all VR headsets by all games through OpenXR! (You may need to refresh the page as the linked comment may take a while to load up in the page).

I wish that the whole series of "Time Crisis" arcade games would be remastered in VR for the PC! Anyone else remember first plunking down quarters then later on, dollar credits via an arcade magnetic strip card to play those games?

Amen brother! I would also like to see the entire series of "The House of The Dead" arcade games remastered in the same fashion~! As a teenager, I remember spending part of my part-time job's salary in quarters playing the THOTD ($0.25/play), THOTD II ($0.25/play) and then later on as the prices to play started to climb, THOTD III ($0.50/play), THOTD 4 ($1.00 to $1.50/play, depending upon the arcade. Arcades were struggling to survive by then and I remember seeing many of my favorite ones close down one by one).

I never got to play the last game "THOTD: Scarlett Dawn" in the arcade as by then the pricing system changed and all of the games were set to "Free play" with the customer having to pay a $10/hr to $15/hr fee to play the games in the arcade and that's if you can even find an arcade left in your neighborhood as well as one that would have that THOTD arcade game machine set up and running! I guess that in these modern times, most of the arcades have changed from being hangouts/hotspots for teenagers back in the '80s to family fun centers nowadays, since most of those teenagers back then are now family guys/gals. The only exception that I'm aware of is the adult oriented, arcade within the "Dave & Busters" chain restaurant bars (See here).

As far as what happened with the arcades, it's just a "Sign of the times". Another arcade railshooter that I would like to see remastered in VR for the PC is "CarnEvil"! Those were good times.
