Publisher: Capcom

Release Date: 4/26/2025

genre Genre: , Turn-Based, RPG

In a far-away world, two continents float, separated by a vast swamp-land. For eons, no contact existed between the two continents because ships couldn’t sail across the expanse. At last, when the historic first contact was made between the two powers, war erupted! After long and costly fighting between the Fou Empire in the west and an alliance of countries in the east, both sides exhausted all their strength and resources. With no other alternative, the two powers agreed to an armistice. One year later, Princess Elena vanished. She had been traveling in the east from town to town, exploring battlegrounds and visiting war veterans. Her trail vanished in a small town near the front line. Nobody knew her whereabouts! The Eastern Alliance wanted to avoid sending a large army to the front. Such a move would be a political blunder, breaking the armistice and stirring up hostilities. It became impossible to carry out a large-scale search for Elena. Time passed… with no sign of the princess. Elena’s sister, Princess Nina, finally makes up her mind. She leaves on a journey in search of her sister – by herself.

This game is a available in the GOG store (See the game's GOG page).

There is support for the English and Japanese languages. It is not clear from GOG's language support notification, unlike that from Steam, where "text" is exactly supported (Interface, Subtitles or both). IMHO, most likely it's the latter.

I've been replaying the original with retroachivements so I'll most likely not play this one but I'm super happy to see GOG preserved this one

Missed this one and the PS2 weird one; Dragon Quarter it's called, I think.

This one is worth it, but my god I hate Dragon Quarter. It aborted the franchise and made it so they weren't willing to do anything going forward with it except mobile trash gacha crap.

I've been here all along. Just haven't felt the need to comment, or seen anything worth commenting on.

I didn't know Breath of Fire 6 was a thing until a day ago when I saw a video made on it. It legit hurt my heart to see how little Capcom cares about this series to have it's name thrown in the wind like this.

They haven't given a crap about Demon's Crest since 1994 either, one of the finest games of the SNES. The whole Gargoyles series has been dead since then.

Yeah, it's no a remaster, lol. GoG just did some fixes for modern hardware.

That's literally what a remaster is. Taking the base and making only slight alterations for current generation hardware, sometimes involving upscaling of graphic resources (or less downscaling, for those that started with a higher resolution image and then reduced it, as with the textures for Oblivion Remastered).

It's not a remaster, dumbass. Stop spreading misinformation. This is a 1:1 with the PSX version that came to PC years ago. GOG took abandonware and put it on their site with a wrapper bolted to it.

Now say it with me: Not A Remaster

It LITERALL is a remaster. It's not a 1:1 port, it has enhancements such as:
Full compatibility with Windows 10 and Windows 11
Improved DirectX game renderer
New rendering options (Windowed Mode, Vertical Synchronization Control, Gamma Correction, Integer Scaling, Anti-Aliasing, and more)
Improved audio engine (restored missing environmental sounds and audio configuration)
Improved keyboard and mouse support
Full support for modern controllers

and much, MUCH more. That's LITERALLY what a remaster is. If it was a 1:1 port then it wouldn't have any of these extra options and enhancements. You call other people dumb yet you don't even know what a remaster is

He probably doesn't even know that GOG stands for "Good Old Games"! Not that it holds true anymore - GOG now carries fairly recent games as well, just a few days after or even on the same day as their release on Steam but without any DRM to bother with ("World of Goo 2" was just released on both retail store sites yesterday)! And like you've already pointed out, they release older but updated titles as well.

Their preservation program is a godsend

Not only that, but the fact we own games after buying them made me taper off buying games in bulk from Steam. Yes, the games on GOG are slightly more expensive, and the selection is comparatively limited, but the passion and straightforwardness of the GOG team won me over.

Here is hoping to some of my favorite oldies being preserved:
Marvel ultimate alliance series
Digimon world series
Freelancer series
and the original Prey.

Not a remaster, just a port of a 25 year old game.

It is a remaster. Remasters are effectively just enhanced ports or re-releases. You were thinking about remakes when you made this, most likely.
