Key Fetures:

  • Players can create a variety of characters, and advance the story through free exploration, investigation, reasoning, selection and other actions, and finally reach the end.
  • No rigid growth system, all attribute are served with narrative.
  • Character’s attributes will influence the direction of the story, which allows players to experience a more multi-faceted plot. Maybe someone with low attributes is more likely to trigger incredible events.
  • There will be a lot of choices in the story module. Different players can reach various plots and endings. These experiences eventually come together and form a complete story with ups and downs.
  • But it is worth mentioning that you are playing a role, and the character’s ‘personality’ and ‘experience’ will influence your choices.
  • No matter investigation modules, infinite modules, plain text modules or strange story modules, it will be supported in different modes.

Theres a little problem with hp lovecraft.
He was a flaming anglophile.

That does not diminish his work, however, it just means that he himself as an author held stupid views. George R. R. Martin comes to mind in regards to copyright, and Tolkien and C.S. Lewis were Conservative Christians, with the latter being so Conservative he refused to not make any of his works thus ultimately leading to a falling out with Tolkien - it would be easy to see where he would stand today in terms of culture.

I do not think the art is completely separate from the author, but we can reinterpret and redefine it. In the case of Lovecraft, he never actually went and did something irreversible, it was just words. I am not saying they should be forgiven but I am saying we can redeem his works.

Lovecraft's art is, sadly, not separate from his views. While not the focus, there are a lot of his stories where you can clearly see his views, mostly his racist ones. As you said, it doesn't diminish his works or the amazing world that he's created, it's just an unfortunate stain on what is otherwise very compelling stuff

That is correct, and it is good to be aware of the author's views.

But there is one area where he certainly beats other writers of action, and that is copyright. Nothing - absolutely nothing - stops somebody from coming and creating better, improved versions of the mythos without the racist nonsense.

Hell, most of Lovecraftian fanfiction I see pretty much do this already, ignoring or reworking the bad bits without losing any of the good stuff in the proceed.

It is just a sad fact that he was a racist.

No, he was just racist. And kinda dumb too. I remember reading about how he couldn't understand how an air conditioning unit worked so he wrote an entire book about it

Ah yes, text to speech - the game. It's a goddamn fever dream from start to finish, but the gameplay goes hard

Text to speech isn't actually that bad.

When it comes out all jarrbolly and non-sensicle and confused,
it still sounds like the plot to any anime or Final Fantasy game.
Professional million dollar translation or not.

The most important thing is to get the inputs and menu's translated imo.

On a paper it seems amazing (a true rpg DnD type but visual novel) !
Gotta test if it runs as smooth as it talk.
But if it does, it is definitely a buy.

Honestly, hot take, but I kinda preferred when the translation was ass xD

Somehow it fit the incomprehensible vibe that Lovecraftian stories are supposed to have. Otherwise though, hard game but fun!
