Both antivirus and Malwarebytes report setup.exe as infected, haven't had the same issue with anything else on IGG. Haven't seen "Hoodlum" group elsewhere either, and the torrent link goes to a different website "http://PCGamestorrents.com". This seems fishy, can anyone confirm it works and is clear?

Appreciate the canned response, but I've downloaded several other things from this site and have never had this problem with Codex, Skidrow, Plaza, or any others. However, I've now downloaded a number of Hoodlum's releases in order to test and find that they all ping as infected on several security platforms.
This represents something particular about this one group's methods of cracking, and whether that indeed represents "false positives" or legitimate threats notwithstanding, it is worth noting this is a single cracking group's work causing this to happen.
As for myself, I'll just abstain from downloading their stuff unless I can get one of their releases into a test environment (or just buy the games as your FAQ helpfully suggests), but as curators of this site's content, I think y'all may want to look into what methods Hoodlum is using and why their work specifically is pinging security software when no one else's is doing the same.

just add it to whitelist then and your problem is solved.
dont worry it's just a false alarm, your pc will be ok.
how to whitelist

  1. Go to Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Security > Virus & threat protection.
  2. Under Virus & threat protection settings, select Manage settings, and then under Exclusions, select Add or remove exclusions.
  3. Select Add an exclusion, and then select from files, folders, file types, or process. The exclusion will apply to subfolders within a folder as well.

i tried it from the torrent side but it said it has a Trojan
