I loved the comics when they came out here in the 70s. Let's see how the game fares.

edit: It's a shame, the game looks good, but plays like crap. It's like someone re-released Altered Beast.

Minus:
Not many variety in enemies.
The animation is very stiff, seems mostly tween/rotation based.
Physics look shabby, especially when characters fall or get hit into the air.
Cannot rebind keys.
Emotionless/detached voice acting.

Plus:
Can beat up women. (As in, does not shy away from)
If you use supers, a close up is shown at the bottom right so you can see the full glory of giving their mouth a hand.

It's not fun enough for me to finish it but I checked letsplay and, god, the ending was awful.

I could only think of
"It's not the way?? Do you know the way? Show me the way, brothers."

This character preceded Batman who was introduced on 1939 in DC's Detective Comics No.27, by three years. While both superheroes have no superpowers other than their honed, natural, human abilities, The Phantom usually wields a pair of Colt M1911 .45 ACP handguns (In some versions it is a pair of Colt .44 revolvers) and unlike Batman, The Phantom does kill villains. There was also a female Phantom (See the fandom site here)! Also, check out the character's lineage which details the generations of Phantoms throughout the past, present and the future~!

Not going to finish it, but I see in letsplay the Phantom's family keeps trying to talk him out of killing. Is that some sort of character distortion or they've always been like that?

AFAIK, unlike Batman, this character doesn't have a "No kill" rule that he imposes upon himself, so it is plausible in this "family friendly" game for Kit Walker to be seemingly persuaded into imposing such a rule upon himself. However, this character appears to be able to go through various controversies in his life and make conscientious decisions that may seem "out of character" but eventually, fate sees to it that he must follow his preordained destiny no matter what and part of that includes killing villains.

If you reference the "lineage of Phantoms" and read the 22nd Pantom's story, you will see that incarnation of Kit Walker, properly named "Kitridge Walker" (I wonder if Hirohiko Araki borrowed the idea of having different incarnations for the titular character when he created "JoJo's Bizarre adventures" since his series was created later on), initially chooses not to take on the mantle of The Phantom but then later does so in order to bring about justice for his murdered family by punishing the murderers (Of course, he simultaneously avenged them).

Think of it in another way - If the character wasn't meant to kill then why is The Phantom equipped with a pair of guns and not instead with non-lethal weapons like those used by Batman (eg. - A Batarang)? Those who carry guns (e.g. - Standard police officers [Not SWAT who have higher powered weapons like assault rifles] in the US, unlike the standard UK police officers [The UK has specially armed police stationed in Northern Ireland and a few other concentrated areas]) for the cause of good, must face the possibility of potentially using deadly force (Even if it's as a justified last resort) since they are equipped and trained to use as such, during their crime fighting career.

Oh, there's a little misunderstanding, what I meant was, were his families always like that - trying to talk him out of killing, "Phantom you shouldn't keep the cycle of violence"..etc.
(My initial reply did not mention "try", my bad)

In this case, I saw both Diana and likely his son urging him not to kill.

The info are nonetheless interesting read, kudos!

You would probably have to read the entirety of that lineage in order to deduce the information as each generation of Phantom may have a different story from the others. If the background stories were exactly the same among the different generations then the series would have probably gone stale over time (Imagine if all generations of Joestars had the exact same story whether it concerns the Hamon users or the Stand users)!

Yes I can confirm that the problem IS the crack and the game does work without it, just uncheck the "apply crack" box in the installer window.

The Phantom is a very cool, old school superhero. It dates all the way back to the 30's and as of 2022 the comics were still being printed and he is credited as the very first costumed crimefighter
